As far as blackened death metal goes over the past five years, there is not a whole lot that can stand toe-to-toe with Aonian Invocation and survive totally unharmed. Comparisons to Behemoth might seem obvious but Agos is better than Behemoth has been in about 15 years; Burial Hordes is a better match. Unspeakably heavy and unfairly dynamic, there is something here for every fan of dark and threatening metal.

I wish to be the 666th person to love this album. To be entirely honest with the casual readers of my reviews, you can blame it on me to NOT know Mgla... I actually do, but you will find ZERO Mgla albums here in my BC collection and both GROZA albums. I got them because I really dig them, I don't care too much if they sound like "..." isn't that true for many other bands? it's a very good melodic BM album, that's enough for me !!
